Cosidering your age and your are having diabetes, hypertension and physical limitations due to hernia operation. It is advisable to learn yoga personally by a teacher and take advice from your doctor. In India, it is not difficult
Find a teacher or a free yoga class.
1. If you want to start on your own, read more about yoga. To make the breath make sure you're sitting erect and your bone back and neck are straight. You can start with just these exercises and see if there is any positive effect.
~ Vilom Alom for 5 minutes or more, as long as you feel comfortable
~ Rhythmic Breathing
~ Recitation Om (20-30 times)
~ Savasana (5-10 minutes)
~ Yoganidra (practice 2-3 times per week)
Savasana Alom vilom and can provide you with the necessary rest and relaxation. When doing pranayama did not hurry. Gradually increase the repetitions of alom vilom. Whenever you feel uncomfortable, stop pranayama and having rest in savasana.

4. avoid any smoke or drink.
5. you can benefit greatly from practicing meditation. You can select a mantra of your choice or just do ' recitation ' Aum.
6. depending on your health, you can also start walking or cycling for at least 30 minutes per day.
7. make sure that you get a good night's sleep 6-8 hours.
8. preference practicing yoga early in the morning.
