Before starting Yoga is better to do some warm-up exercises. In the yoga we call ' sukshma kriyas ' or ' subtle ' exercises as it opens all body joints, warm the body and relaxes the muscles.
Some people also prefer doing 5 to 6 rounds of greetings from Sun to warm up.
I suggest doing warm-up exercises, make namaskars surya and proceed with the rest of the sequence of yoga.
