I have 38 year old, I'm intrested in making regular yoga as it improves the mental strength & gives peace to mind at the same time build the strength of the body. However, my body is not as flexible. Can you please suggest me how I should proceed?

I'm prepared to save my one hour daily, although I have very tight schedule.

Response

Usually the flexibility decreases with increasing age, as well as due to sedentary lifestyle. With the practice of yoga you can catch more loss of flexibility and with particular practice will improve your flexibility. To avoid any injury not stretch your body beyond its limits. You can proceed with a generalized yoga sequence refers to the following Web page:
Yoga for people inflexible

2. the sequence of yoga practice may be the following:
~ Warm-up or 5-6 rounds of surya namaskar (greetings from Sun)
~ Standing Asanas
~ Supine Asanas
~ Asanas prone
~ Sitting Asanas
~ Pranayama
~ Meditation
~ Rest in savasana

3. To increase flexibility
~ Reduce weight.
~ Take less food and food preferably raw, cooked vegetables.
~ Practicing sitting at vajrasana sukhasana or whenever you have free time.
~ The joints massage.
~ Your main goal should be to achieve the flexibility to make padmasana. For this purpose keep practicing by half padmasana, butterfly pose and other ' sukshma kriyas ' or subtle exercises (make as many repetitions, how can you make, but stop if you experience pain). Gradually, you will see improvements.

4. If you haven't done yoga before, it is recommended to seek guidance from a teacher of yoga in person to get the correct movement for the asanas.

Hope this helps.
